Great job to everyone who competed. You all put in your best effort and did very well!
Ward Melville High School DECA club had a remarkable performance at this year’s New York State competition and, as a result of their placement, 11 students have qualified to compete in the national contest in Atlanta this April.
The national qualifiers include: Kelsey Ge: First Place – Restaurant and Food Service Management Elizabeth Wang: Second Place – Quick Service Restaurant Management Anna Ma and Eileen Whelan: Second Place – Hospitality Services TEAM Jay Sangwan and Kathryn Zhao: Second Place – Financial Services TEAM Ari Solomon: Third Place – Business Service Management Suraj Singh: Third Place – Automotive Services Marketing William Jin and Diego Bennett: Fourth Place – Independent Business Plan TEAM Varsha Talanki: Fourth Place – Marketing Communications Series Additionally, the following students placed in the top 10 in their events in New York State: Jade Eggleston – Retail Merchandising Jonathan Huang – Principles of Finance Priya Mukhi – Hotel and Lodging Management Ashley Zhang – Principles of Hospitality and Tourism
